IBP Multilanguage English translations removed from planning area

Hi Experts,

I have an issue related to SAP IBP Multilanguage support.

My company IBP system is on version 2202 and default language was set as English. Therefore when copying a new planning area from the SAP sample ones (for example SAPIBP1), Key Figures and Attributes name and description were displayed on Excel Add-in in English language.

I then tried the "Multilanguage Support" App to add the Japanese language into the system and set it as default language for the names and descriptions. However, after performing the activation steps, when i look at the multilanguage support page i can see that only Japanese is available for the planning areas and on Excel Add-in i can only see Japanese language(when i set japanese as add-in language) or system technical names(when setting english) for the key figures and attributes. I could not understand why the system deleted the sample english names and description. As you can see from the image i just have 0 under english language.

These are the steps i did to activate multilanguage:

1-Open the app "Multilanguage Support"

2-Clicked "Turn on Multilanguage" button

3-Selected English and Japanese language (Japanese set as default)

4-Clicked Ok on the warning message and the available translations for each existing planning area data is displayed.

I understand i can upload the translation on this page, but since i can still see the english ones on the sample planning areas, i do not understand why they disappeared from the copied ones. I believe it is some sort of bug and i would expect that they are still available.

Could you please share more insights on this issue?

Hello Lorenzo,

As per your information you have to see only one language ( Japanese) , If yes then no need Multilanguage activation. You have to set the Profile to see your desire language . I'm working with English Language but change the Language (FR) profile setting entire information available in French. Here share the screenshot for your reference.

As per my understanding - If you work for more than one language then Language translation would be apply.

thank you for your reply.

I have no issues is changing the language on the WebUI, my question is more related to the Excel Add-in Key Figures and Attributes name language. I was expecting that activating multilanguage would allow me to switch between japanese and english but instead now when selecting english i just have system technical names and not the original name and description.
