IBP: How can I lock a planning value for disaggregation

Hi all,

our client has the requirement to “lock” a planning value on SAP IBP. I explain myself with a short example:

• Suppose you input a volume at an aggregated level (e.g. brand level) – let’s say 100

• That volume gets disaggregated down to SKU level – let’s say there are 2 SKUs and disaggregation is proportional so 50 for SKU1 and 50 for SKU2

• Now, suppose the demand planner wants SKU1 to be 60 instead of 50 and wants to have this value fixed

• As soon as he changes the value of SKU1 to 60, the Brand level volume increases to 110. However, he still wants to have the total Brand value to 100 and not 110

As you can see, if the demand planner changes the brand volume back to 100, he will lose the SKU1 volume of 60 as he wants it. My understanding is that it is possible to “lock” a value on SAP APO; however, there currently is no such functionality in SAP IBP. Does anyone have experience for a workaround?
