IBP Heuristic - Products no longer in BOMs retain last run production receipts

When we run a heuristic, materials that are no longer in a bill of material do not have their production receipts (other heuristic-updated key figures) cleared - leaving the values that were calculated the last time the heuristic ran and they were in a BOM.

Is there a parameter to have the heuristic clear out ALL resulting key figures?

Hello Susan,

I'd also recommend you to check the sample planning area SAP4 or SAPIBP1 to find the mandatory attributes MATTRPRODUCTIONSOURCEITM and MATTRPRODUCTIONSOURCEITMR from MDTs IBPPRODUCTIONSOURCEITM and IBPPRODUCTIONSOURCEITMR, respectively.

They should be able to the trick of deleting the planning objects once they're no longer in an existing BOM.

Best regards,
Matheus

Hello Matheus,

I do see these attributes/MDT in our quality system but not in our production system. What must the master data type contain with respect to entries for this to work? Is it a MDT that we load? Any direction you could give with respect to the set up of the MDT so that it clears the past heuristic results when running a new heuristc for materials no longer in a bom would be greatly appreciated.

Actually, the attributes/MDT you have listed I do NOT see in our quality system. I see other mattr* attributes.

We do have a PRODUCTIONSOURCEITM MDT that we replace daily that contains all the items that are in a bom. But, once SOURCEIDs drop out of this MDT, they are retaining their heuristic results when a new heuristic is run.

Hi Susan,

Yes, these mandatory attributes I mentioned should do the trick. Please see the mandatory-attributes.png attached with all standard mandatory attributes for TS Supply.

Please note that these attributes should be assigned to specific planning levels, so you can refer to the sample planning area SAPIBP1 or SAP4 and find the list there.

Furthermore, if you want more information around mandatory attributes, please review the Model Configuration Guide - Validate Master Data for New Planning Objects.

Best regards,
Matheus

Please run copy operator or Delete version operator to clear the supply planning output KF before taking new run.
