Dear community,
I browsed through most of the integration guidelines related to SAP IBP for demand and wasn't really able to find an answer to my question. For that reason I raising my question to the community hoping to get a more tangible answer.
Is it possible to regularly release a dedicated forecast key figure from IBP for demand back to SAP ECC / S/4 HANA as planned independent requirement similar to how it was possible from SAP APO to SAP ECC?
If yes, is there any easy way to do so?
Thanks, Stefan

Hi Stefan,
You can able to write forecast or demand key figure data from integrated business planning (IBP) to ECC as planned independent requirements. Please refer to below SAP note to understand high level process flow.
https://launchpad.support.sap.com/#/notes/2548336 - How to write to ECC via SAP Cloud Platform for Data Services
1. Install HCI agent and enable connection to IBP and ECC.
2. Enable BAPI to web service call using SOAPMANAGER (use BAPI - IBP_FM_PUBLISHCONSENSUSPLANS4HANA_CREATE, (MD61 update) IBP_FM_PUBLISHCONSENSUSPLANS4HANA_CHANGE (MD62 change)).
3. Create an HCI task (source IBP key figure and target web service BAPI). Make sure that IBP forecast to aggregated to PER/PROD/LOC.
4. Run statistical forecast and update the relevant key figure forecast or demand.
4. Execute the HCI task data write back to the ECC system and update MD61 - planned independent requirements.

Thanks for your comprehensive answer. I was hoping that there is a more "out of the box" service already available. Nevertheless it seems doable getting the integration done vie WebServices and the respective BAPI you called out.
I will need to explore the difference between this particular BAPI and the standard ones to created planned independet requirements.
Cheers, Stefan
Meanwhile you cannot just only use a web service, but an RfC Call. And when you have the IBP AddOn for S/4 installed, with the next IBP release upgrade to 2005 (next month) it is planned to have a template flow in CPI-DS that read a KF from IBP, raises an RfC to S/4 and writes there into a generated staging table, and preprocessing creates the PIR out of it (Planned independent requirement)
Watch the recording from April 16th for "Meet the Expert: SAP IBP External Integration - Capabilities and Roadmap ", the last 30 minutes or so
Advantage of the web service should be better performance
You can already use the RfC functionality, just the full flow is available in two weeks

Hi Stephan
Yes, it surely can be done. You could extract Forecast data from IBP-Demand Planning and transfer it to ECC or S/4.You will have to use CPI-DS to create flow for extraction of forecast data from IBP and followed by transfer of that into ECC. It will require configuration on CPI side for the data transfer and on ECC side w.r.t setting up of WSDL(SOAMANAGER). You will have install/configure the CPI agent on you on-premise ECC system. Please consult your CPI-DS help for further information. This is not complete information, hopefully it will give you some idea.
Thank you
