IBP Excel Add-On Not Working Properly

My IBP Excel Add-In is not working correctly. I am experiencing the below issues:

  • When creating a new view from a template or using an existing template I am unable to change the period in the drop down from eg. Year to month. (it doesn’t drop down at all)
  • When trying to save a view as a favourite or saving data she gets an ‘IBP: Warning’ box, but there is no message in the box to indicate what the problem is – I have tried checking the application logs but it doesn’t show any issues considering its just a warning.
  • My planning views are all showing as ‘Last Refresh: Offline’ even though I am connected to the internet and data is loading into the planning view.

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the excel add-in as well as clearing the metadata cache in the excel connection but with little success. I cant see what i am doing anything wrong when interacting with the system and it can’t be an auths issue because other users with the same role are not experiencing the same issue. It seems like a technical issue with the IBP add-in.

Hi Mpho,

The first two behaviors are caused by an Excel setting. Please refer to below KBA to resolve it if not already:

2790918 - IBP Excel Add-in: Menu screen shows as Blank. No information is displayed

I can see that you have EPM installed from your screenshot

So I assume that you may have some incompatibilities.

But without any information about which IBP release and which EPM release, not even SAP Support could help

But from the screenshot I see as well that you do NOT have the new 2005 add-in installed (the ribbon would show up as "SAP IBP").

So as it is one of the older Add-ins, I wonder why you de-install and re-install an old version in the first place

Furthermore, if you install the old Add-In, you must make sure you used the correct side-by-side installation file.

If you are 100% certain you did use the correct installation file (with the download of the old add-ins there come 4 different installation file), you might open up an OSS ticket.

But if I were in support I would ask you why you would not install 2005 release. Keep in mind that you need to upgrade your EPM add-in to minimum release 37 patch 1 BEFORE you install the new IBP Add-in
