Error during upload: we cannot merge your changes with the changes of another person.

I have than the options, to save a copy or discard changes.

What is the reason of this error message

Hi Oliver,

This message is purely Excel related, independent from using the IBP Add-in or not. You probably have some OneDrive or Sharepoint online auto-saving on your machine ?

See here a thread discussing it further, for instance: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/forum/all/cant-upload-we-cant-merge-your-changes-with-t...

Best,

Ivan

Hello Ivan,

that sounds like the cause.

Since a few weeks, we have onedirve and if I remember correctly, the saw the message since that time..

This means that I have to change the path of the workbooks

this path have to change to a directory, that is not connected with oneDrive

Hello Irmhild, hello Ivan,

I guess, that I am not the only person who has this issue.

So to complete this questions, I change the path in the general settings. The new path is not share with OneDrive.

And after this, I get not an further error messagne.

previously, i copy all templates from "the" old path into the "new" path.

Thanks to both of you for the help and response.

Regards

Oliver

When you say "load", do you mean you open a template in order to use it, or do you mean to save a template?

Hello,

with load I mean, that I

a) open a planning view from my favorite

b) open a planning view from template Admin

Regards

Oliver

When I replied last time, I did not see that Ivan did already.

But after your clarification I agree with him that this is very likely due to the "file path for workbooks" in the user settings.

That path should be set as trusted location in the Excel Options Trust Center to avoid issues especially when working with VBA, and it should not be OneDrive or SharePoint or similar.
