Hello SAP Community,
we're in test and implementation phase with IBP and frequently suffering from minor errors in SAP IBP Excel Add-in. Which we can often solve by clearing the metadata cache. This leads me to the question:
Is there a way to automatically (periodically) clear the metadata cache? We're on add-in Version 2008.3.0. There seemd to be a solution with EPM Formatting sheet, but since it's changed to IBPFormatting sheet, this is not an option.
Any Ideas?
Best Regards
Christian

Hi Christian,
AAIK there is no way to automate the IBP Excel metadata cache clearing periodically.
The most recommended approach is to always rely on the latest IBP Excel add-in version available, which currently is the 2102 3.0:
Some bugs related to the metadata cache were fixed from 2020 versions, so if you install the newest version you may get this message less frequently.
Other than that is also a recommended approach to schedule a regular Purge Non-Conforming data Application Job template for the Planning Area on your IBP system. You can schedule it to be run once a week, for instance, and that will make sure that abandoned combinations are always proactively cleared from the database tables, also avoiding such kind of error message.
Hope that helps.
Best,
Ivan
