Hi Gurus
I hope you can help me and guide me whether the scenario describe has a solution in IBP
We have a scenario where Finish Good A is purchased from a Subcontractor. Once in the Distribution Center Product A can be sold as eaches or the business can Subcontract and pay the warehouse for the conversion of Product A (eaches) into Product B (Display Unit). The planner has two streams of demand for Product A:
Is it possible to plan the above scenario for Purchase Products? In this case, the quantity of Product A that needs to be outsourced has to be the independent + dependent demand
We are using dependent demand in IBP for Manufacture products without any issues.
In Master Data I have checked and there is a record for the corresponding Production Source Item but when looking at the Dependent Demand Key Figures in the Planning View nothing is coming trough.
Thanks in advance for your help
Roberto

Hi Roberto,
In my suggestion this a quota issue.
You need separate the the Product A sourcing in Production Source Header MDT.
Maintain 2 sourcing MDT for Product A used in production B. maintain the sourcing ratio and source type P
In second MDT, create sourcing option for subcontractor and maintain sourcing ratio.( Depending on your scenario define sourcing type as T or U ).

Hi Roberto,
If you have setup Production source item and it should generate dependent demand on input component.
Which algorithm you are using here Heuristic / optimizer?
If Heuristic, then it should generate
If Optimizer, then you also need the master data setup for input component Production source header for source of supply.
Thanks

Hi Roberto,
Can you share some screen shots of MD setup and which KF you are checking the output?
This looks to be straight forward scenario where TS heuristic should generate dependent demand on product B.
Thanks
Girish
Hi Girish
This is a really belated, very late reply on my part but honestly I didn't see your comment until I had to come back and do a search on topic very similar to this one. My sincere apologies, I truly value the time of people in the SAP community.
I posted another question related to Subcon (Purchase) products and dependent demands of purchased items
Sincerely
Roberto
Hi,
You can create the two sources of supply for product A and drive the demand based on requirements (Independent or dependent).
For Product B you will have a subcontracting BOM and send Product A receives Product B this is as standard material subcontracting process.
