IBP Bom Header Updates

We had always been doing a replace on both the bom header and bom item master data types. Recently, it seems, if we do a replace on the bom header, it clears out any production receipts data we have (I understand why, just didn't think it always did that).

I am reaching out to ask what other companies do with the bom header loads. For now, we changed it to an insert/update but continue to do a replace on the bom item MDT. With that replace we at least do not plan for components that are no longer linked to the finished good.

Any feedback on how you handle these loads would be appreciated.

Here is details about Replace Master data, Please read this once if you have gone through this already.

How many Production source Header and Production Source item interface you have in your application job template which you run in replace mode. We need to run only 1 of them (if we have multiple PSH and PSI interfaces steps) in replace and rest should run in insert updates only.

Depending upon business scenario, we need to remove obsolete PSH and PSI entries from IBP side, Replace function is the only way to do that, frequency can be controlled depending upon business need.

Before that we need to ensure any impacted KF which has SOURCEID in the base planning level.
