IBP attribute text change

Dear community,

I changed the attribute name and description after having actived the planning area successfully and put a numeric prefix prior to the original name in order to overcome the missing functionality in IPB Excel Add-In to hide certain attributes. However the new names / desc. are not visible within Excel and still the former names do get displayed.

I did the same with the key figures where it perfectly worked out. I already refreshed the cache and I even logged off and on multiple times. Is there any step I am missing?

Thanks for any hints in this regards.

Peter

usually that is a cache problem. Excel holds quite a lot of info and does not necessarily re-load

1) delete your internet browser cache

2) Log off from Excel for all sheets (best including non-IBP)

3) delete the Excel meta data either in the logon, or by going to the folder

C:\Users\<user ID>\AppData\Local\EPMOfficeClient\Metadata and delete all subfolder

4) log on again and try....
Good luck

Hi Irmhild,

Your steps actually did the trick and the renamed attributes are now getting displayed correctly. It was a bit irritating that the embedded "refresh cache" function did not do the same.

Thanks a lot for your swift reply and help.

Hi Peter,

I am not sure if this will resolve the issue but you can try this out - When attribute name is changed, it deactivates the attribute. Make sure while activating planning area, you activate it with dependencies so that attribute as well as MDT in which that attribute is used gets activated. Also make sure you clear Metadata cache and Reload cache under Master Data section -> Manage section.

Hi,

I have done this before but it actually did not help. The reply by Irmhild is the exact solution for outdated cache cleansing.
