Currenlty I am lacking a global planning tool - IBP is on the roadmap for implementation, however the plan is to wait until our cutrrent SAP system/ERP tools have been upgraded. However, question is, can one implement IBP as a stand alone planning tool and only connect this with an ERP at a later stage
All planning and MRP should be executed in IBP

Hello Mathys
Yes OfCourse, you can implement standalone SAP IBP system and SAP IBP - Time series-based functionalities configure Like Demand Planning, S&OP , Inventory Optimization . After upgrading ERP system setup connection with CI-DS ( Cloud integration - Database )

Hello Mathys,
You can use the 'Demand Planning' and 'Time Series Supply Planning' functionalities using IBP as a standalone tool as they are not tightly coupled with the ERP systems.
The only downside is that you will have to load the entire Master and Transaction Data either manually or using CSV Files.
If you want to use the 'Order Based Planning' functionality, then you will need to have a SRP ERP system as a source system.
