How to view ALL Planning Notes stored in IBP database for all the respective keyfigures

Hi IBP Experts,

How to view ALL Planning Notes stored in IBP database for all the respective keyfigures.

We would like to see which are all the Key figures having Planning Notes stored by users in IBP Database and if they are OLD and not relevant now then we would like to delete after validating and checking.

So How to view ALL Planning Notes in BULK/MASS which are stored in IBP Database ?

Hi Parhti,

To delete obsolete Planning Notes you can use the predefined Application Job Template called "Delete Planning Notes", according to various criteria, including for example, planning area, version, key figure, the user who created the planning note, or the age of the planning note.

The first requirement (view ALL Planning Notes in BULK/MASS) is not possible within the product as far as I know. I would recommend sending an Improvement Request for future product releases on this regard:

1 ) Is there a way to 'SIMULATE' the deletion of 'Planning Notes' instead of just deleting them right away?

2 ) or If SAP can extract the planning notes from the background from IBP Database for the SCPGs which have 'Planning Notes', then can SAP send that 'Planning Notes' Details/list across to IBP customer (us) ?

3 ) We have two Keyfigures - 'Daily Forecast Qty Adjustment', 'Forecast % Adjustment'

If we are deleting the daily adjustments & % adjustments - what hapens to the planning notes ?
Will it be stored in the backend Database in the IBP system ?

Hi Parthi,

1) The only application job templates where a Simulation is possible are the ones that have the "Simulate" checkbox to select. I agree that it would be interesting to have this functionality while purging planning notes as well, so this can also be submitted as an enhancement request to the Product Management team via the Influence Channel, which is the way to go with missing standard functionalities.

2) Even if such service request was available, I am afraid that the related Planning Notes HANA Database tables content wouldn't be useful as the information would not be structured in an user friendly manner. Such feature should really be made available via a future product release with the standard functionality.

3) I would expect that the Planning Notes are purged along once your Purge the Key Figure data, especially if you also check the box to delete the corresponding "Planning Objects" in case of using the Purge Key Figure Data Application Job template. Are you observing a behavior different than that?
