Hello all,
in "Analytics and Reporting" the is "preview report" option. On the right side a template can be chosen.
I recognized that I just see report template that are not assigned to any objects types (Reports - Report templates).
I would like to see the PDF form for a checklist template in advance, so without having the effort to fill out a checklist inside an activity and generate the PDF. Meaning, the empty PDF form of the checklist template...
Is this possilbe?
I try to display the standard "serviceCall" Template. Is not working, showing error...
If I try to show our template for checklists, as well an error message:
What is important to use this preview report feature? How can I work with it?
Best regards,
Deborah

The solution ist to open the preview report for the checklist template (3 dots - preview report), then search for a checklist instance (Smartform and Feedback - Instances). Copy the checklist instance ID from the URL and paste it to the URL of the checklist template preview report.
Then it is working and showing the preview of checklist instance in the webbrowser.

Hi Deborah,
Previewing a report executes the report including the query portion within this is where the error occurs as the query relies on the parameters.
A report relies on the data requested by the query and displays the data afterwards.
There is currently no functionality available to preview a report with dummy data. However you can create the dummy data first yourself and then set the relevant object IDs in your report parameters. It ususally is sufficient to create such dummy data only once. Another option is to create your custom report not relying on any parameters and later adjusting it to the data input however it is always better to test with some data.
For a checklist it is not necessarily required to fill out the whole checklist but you can simply generate a checklist instance of the template you would like to use. Keep in mind that also here to have a more realistic result it is better to fill out the checklist with some data as close to the real data as possible.
For the standard checklist report you can also use the preview functionality from the smartforms designer (click on preview report when editing a smartforms template).
Best Regards
Nicolas

Hi Nicolas,
thanks for your response!
I checked the preview function within the checklist templates (checklist template - 3 dots - preview report). However, I still dont get a preview, because I cannot chose for which checklist instance ID I want to have the preview. There is not object ID in the report parameter, see screenshot attached. How can I add it?
I checked as well the point "smartforms - instances". But from there I cannot jump into the preview UI (no options via 3 dots). I just see the filled out data of the checklist, without the PDF preview.
How can I use the preview function in the webbrowser for a test checklist instance?
Best regards,
Deborah
