how to turn on variable size for L item category like item category R for BOM in sap pp

I want to use tab variable size fields item category "R" in BOM item level for item category "L" of BOM

If we can't do then I planned to created a custom four field on item tab in BOM, I see the screen number but what user exit or BADI to use to enhance it.
