How to limit number of a given alert or change/clear status

Good morning,

I am trying to see how I can change the status or clear an alert. An example is we have alert to notify when weeks on hand is below a certain threshold an alert is triggered. I do not want to see duplicate alerts each day that the condition is not met. How can I either limit the number of instances of a given alert and or how can I change the status and manually clear an alert if there is no way to limit the number of alerts.

Do you only want to see first occurrence of the alert? Please provide more details on your requirement.
