Hi,
My current TS optimizer executes at the level of Product and Location. What would be the recommended changes to Master Data to enable planning at aggregate level of Product (Ex: product family, group etc.)?

Hey AK
what I have done in a POC is that I created a product of type "planning product". That does not really exist in IBP. Each real SKU plus the planning product itself became the "planning product" as an attribute, and the material type of the planning product itself ad a different type in order to select
My requirement was to plan on group level after lets say 10 weeks, and before that on detailed SKU level.
From Demand I had data on SKU level for the 10 week, and a log term horizon on group level
With configuration I made sure that I have clean split between the both, in order to not have duplicated values for the demand. And before each new release from Demand to SOP-Supply I wiped out the consensus demand within the 10-weeks-horizon as week after week the long-term horizon closes in.
The planning product needs a dummy BOM, in my case the group was a summary of more or less the same products but with different packaging. So I provided the same BOM and capacity, just except the packaging and packaging materials
You could combine this with product substitution, and / or Forecast consumption on group evel
Then I run the algorithm just normally for all the products, resulting in customer receipts on group level outside and on SKU level inside the Horion. Components was created correct due o the dummy BOM, same with capa

Hi,
It seems to be difficult to run the TS Optimizer at a product level because master data inputs are dependent on location level, cost figures also. The optimizer core algorithm logic to be also reviewed.
I would suggest raise an incident to the SAP support team.

Hi AK,
There is no aggregate planning concept like APO in IBP so far
You need to create dummy master data at aggregate level
1. Aggregate input transactional data (Using CPIDS or some complex KF logic) to dummy product level.
2. Disaggregate Output transactional data (Using CPIDS or some complex KF logic) to actual product level.
Thanks
