Hi everyone
I am using SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud, and I encountered an issue related to MRP purchase proposal consolidation and minimum lot size.
After running MRP, I receive multiple purchase demand elements, for example:
Requirement A = 20 pcs
Requirement B = 30 pcs
I want to combine A + B and create one purchase order.
I also want to apply a minimum lot size, for example 50 pcs.
A + B = 50 pcs → meets the minimum lot size
If the total does not reach 50, MRP should add remaining quantity.
Example:
A (20) + B (20) = 40 → System should propose 50.
Currently, the minimum lot size is applied per requirement, so the system creates:
Requirement A → 50 pcs
Requirement B → 50 pcs
Total = 100 pcs, which is not what we want.
Is it possible in S/4HANA Public Cloud to apply minimum lot size based on the total combined quantity, not per requirement?
→ For example: A + B + additional quantity to meet the minimum lot size.
In the generated Purchase Order, I cannot see the reference to the original MRP elements (e.g., MRP element number / MRP demand reference such as sales order numbers).
Is there any configuration that allows the PO to display which MRP elements (A and B) it was created from?
Or is this not supported in Public Cloud?
Any guidance or confirmation would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!

Good day @kuroneko96
Thank you for your question.
Answer to your question 1:
In public cloud, the system evaluates minimum lot size for each procurement proposal. This behaviour is described here: https://help.sap.com/docs/SAP_S4HANA_CLOUD/2bba750d1e124e1ea2a039bb1cd9b6c5/dca5bb53707db44ce1000000...
So, for you to have A+B combined and then checked against the minimum lot size, you have to use a period lot-sizing procedure. This will ensure both of your requirements fall into one single lot period. The system then sums A+B and if necessary, it will increase to the minimum. Basically, there is no standard option that allows you to apply a minimum lot size across multiple periods or to arbitrarily combine different requirements beyond the lot-sizing logic in public cloud.
Answer to your question 2:
For you to trace which demands a PO covers, the public cloud does not show all MRP elements directly in the PO. You should use MRP apps for pegging and optionally the Requirement Tracking Number
plus the Display Documents by Tracking Number app for reporting.
You can find more information on that through this link: https://help.sap.com/docs/SAP_S4HANA_CLOUD/0e602d466b99490187fcbb30d1dc897c/9210deb79b8a4076ac01d945...
Let me know if you have further questions.
Best regards
Chris
