How assign a single warehouse request item to multiple waves in ewm ?

Hi All,

i am trying standard scenario which is given in EWM110 that is assigning the same warehouse request item to multiple waves, so i created a ODO for 125 qty & in my case i have 100 KG Pallet , 10 KG Pallet , 5 KG free are from P100 , P010 ,GEN1 Storage types so i cross checked by creating the warehouse task without wave system is able to create 4 warehouse task , please see the below screenshot.

Now if i activate the automatic wave assignment & rough bin determination system is proposing P100-22-01-A as a rough bin & creating only one wave for complete warehouse request item but according to standard SAP it has to create three waves for the same warehouse request item, can anyone help.

Hi,

we had the same issue and raised it to SAP. Based on this they created note 2332529 which solved it for us. So as Juergen already suggested I would implement the note(s) before spending lot of time on other potential reasons...

hendrik

Hi vamshikrishna srirangam,

Hope you are well.

Assignment of an Item to Different Waves

As per Jurgen Juergen,I believe you use Standard HU Type in product for Removal Strategies.

Stock Removal Suggestion According to Quantity Use

Partial Quantities First

Please try with packspec once if possible. Please let us know if your issue persists.

Hi,

As per the condition records, AA is a parameter to determine the WAVE template ( different ).Thats why system is creating separate WAVEs,even though product is same.

the system is not creating separate waves it is creating single wave only but it has to create separate waves .

Hi,

It seems, different quantity classifications , you are using for different storage types. Please check the removal strategy is working with refernce to quantity classification.

Normally rough bin determination, we can use for order related replenishment process.

regarding WAVE what is are control parameters using to determine the WAVE template.

Hi C K Reddy ,

My Strategy is working fine ,here are the screenshots & above link contains the document with step by step procedure ( i am using AUOM in the warehouse product master level instead of packaging specification ).

Hi,

what is your picking strategy? You need the rough bin determination. But this will only create a split and therefore split the item into different waves when you use the strategy "Stock Removal Suggestion According to Quantity" (http://help.sap.com/saphelp_ewm94/helpdata/en/4f/c0108a76ac209de10000000a42189d/content.htm?frameset=/en/aa/cecb53ad377114e10000000a174cb4/frameset.htm&current_toc=/en/aa/cecb53ad377114e10000000a174cb4/plain.htm&node_id=21). You then need to use the information coming from the bins (like the storage type or the activity area, whatever is available in the condition technique there) for the wave determination.

Hi Pitz,

Hi,

nice documentation.

Can you please check the ODR. On item level (means you have to open the + sign), there is a tab "picking bin data". If your strategy works correctly, you should find the split there.

If not: when you create the warehouse task (without using the wave): does the strategy work properly then?

Hi Pitz,

i checked my config so many times the system is not populating this picking bin data but i am able to see the system is picking from three different storage types based on the quantity classification.if there is any how to guide that helps me on this topic kindly please share.

Hi,

"the system is not populating this picking bin data"

But this is necessary for the wave determination and the split you wish to happen. Otherwise you strategy seems to work (from the screenshots I see below), and you seem to have the rough bin determination activated. So it should work... Maybe check note

2332529 - No split during rough storage bin determination or

2127319 - Rough bin determination returns incorrect split quantities during picking of large and small quantities
