Hi Every One, Am new to IBP just want to under stand what is the difference between the Attributes that we use in APO & IBP?
Request clarification before answering.
Hi Dilip
data modelling is pretty different between APO and IBP, and I would guess that this is what your question is about? Or really about the different predefined attributes and their meaning?
If you refer to attributes, I assume you understand APO-DP?
High-level simplified and leaving out details: Here in DP, you have characteristics and attributes, which you could understand that as a table with the key beeing the characteristic and the attributes beeing additional non-key-fields. Those are assined to a planing object structure (POS), so if that POS was only one flat table (which it is not) than the characteristics would all be key fields and build the one "planning level" in which you have you planning combination. And all key figures of the assigned planning area are assigned and stored on this one level
In IBP, you have a master data type to which you have attributes assigned and one (or a combination) of them is the key and the others are additional non-key fields, so you could compare the MD type with a characteristic.
However, there is nothing such as a POS in IBP. You have a planning area to which you assign all, but more important to your question are than the many "planning level". And here is a major difference: You can define many and not only one planning level, in which you can assign any attributes as key and not only the roots of the MD types. With that you can have every key figure defined on its own planning level.
So you see that the concept of attributes is much more flexible and adjustable in IBP than in APO-DP
Hope I did not misunderstood your question...
