Heuristic run with independent demand as input and production receipt as output in IBP

Hello ,

We are able to run Heuristic successfully using Time Series based Supply Heuristic. This has consensus demand as input and dependent demand and production receipts as output.

Business requirement is to use independent demand(WKPRODLOC) as input and production receipt as output to run Heuristic.

Pls help.

Hi Ashish - did you put any adjusted volumes at output level that restricts Heuristic from creating any new supply? Maybe that's what is forcing you to think that INDEPENDENTDEMAND is not being considered for demand fulfilment. Please do note however INDEPENDENTDEMAND is an input to Heuristic by standard and you will get the corresponding production receipt for sure provided you maintained right master data (if your INDEPENDENTDEMAND is at a different location in the supply chain other than manufacturing plant, you should have right source of supply defined in the "location source" master data file for the Heuristic to go the manufacturing plant and create the production receipts).

Also, I trust you have a clarity on your requirement but it's however not clear here from what you wrote. Heuristic generates dependent demand across your supply chain based on your consensus plan. You can't ignore it. You may add INDEPENDENTDEMAND as an additional quantity on top of what comes out as dependent demand if that's needed.

INDEPENDENTDEMAND is already an input key figure for heuristic and delivered as part of standard model.

Can you tell what issue are you facing?

As Rohit & Guru already mentioned INDEPENDENTDEMAND is also as input to Supply heurisitic in-addition to CONSENSUSDEMAND. So please check the master data and ensure your INDEPENDENTDEMAND is at the same location as your CONSENSUSDEMAND (Customer/product) and run the heuristic.

When we are loading INDEPENDENDEMAND and running Heuristic, it is not giving any output.

Hi Ashish,

Suggest you to run check mode and go through heuristic logs for possible reason of no output.

Some possibilities could be missing lane, production source of supply or incorrect configuration. Please check.
