Handling Unit Label Printing Through PPF in SAP EWM

Hi all,

We have a business requirement to trigger the PPF HU for HU label print after the Goods receipt is posted. In standard, the HU gets printed immediately after the packing is done (HU is created and saved). Is there any way to trigger the PPF HU after GR is posted ?

Have you checked to see if the goods movement status is available in the field catalog for the PHU/HU application configuration?

Hi, not available. Internal HU status is available, tried it and does not work.

Another option would be to use a start condition in the action definition that evaluates the associated delivery status.  It would return a value in ep_rc other than zero for any time the goods movement status is not shown as complete.  The trick here would be to associate the business object (HU) to the delivery with the information that is passed to the BADI.

I tried in one of the sandbox systems, the HU PPF actions did not get triggered upon Goods Receipt posted at delivery HU level. This requirement potentially needs a custom PPF action definition created and configured at inbound delivery level.

Hi, thank you for the confirmation. a custom PPF could be an option yes. I was wondering if we can force the PPF HU trigger through a BADI call at goods receipt posting. Does this seem as a good practice option ?

Hi,

To trigger the HU PPF actions you would need to change something in the HU. Even if that is achieved, the field catalog of HU Printing does not have any field that deals with GR status changes. I feel this might become too big of a development.
