Hi,

I have copied, PA SAP4 and configured it.  But I am getting an error while trying to activate the planning area. Error is as follows:

E - ERROR: There are all-roots planning levels which have non-root attributes

Could anyone please tell the root cause of this error?

Sourojit

PPlease check all the Planning levels and ensure the correct root are selected, eg Time root be month etc.

Hi Sourojit,

Which IBP release you are using? Also please attach the entire activation log.

Hi Rinju,

I am using version 6.1.

However, I have fixed the error recently. It was mainly because of some attributes not marked as root in some "all-root Planning Levels".

Thanks,

Hi Rinju,

We are facing the exact same issue in 6.2 what do you mean by: "all-root Planning Levels" ?

Thank you

Hi Julien,

In the planning area you are using, there does exist some planning levels in which all the selected attributes of attached MDT must be marked as root. In such a planning level you must have included some attributes and have not marked them as root. This is why the planning level activation is failing.

If you are using Supply planning area then the planning areas having suffix : *AGG are of this type.

For example if you check PERPRODLOCSRCAGG and PERPRODLOCCUSTAGG you will find all the attributes included in this level is marked as root. You can take reference from the aforementioned standard planning levels as well.

This is exactly how my issue was resolved.

Hope this clarifies

Thanks Sourojit,

Your SCN post has guided us on a root not specified within the PER planning level.

From SAP4 there was nothing checked but we have checked "monthly", launched the activation of the PA, it worked. Then unchecked the root as we don't need it, reactivated the PA and it worked again.

Seems like we need at least one root checked for initial activation but not sure it was the case in 5.0
