Front End printing using ITS mobile service

Hi,

I am using ITS mobile with Z internet service created. I have created template with theme as 99 and Generating style as MOBILE4.

In Printing, when I am using GUI for HTML and running /scwm/rfui to print on printer with device type PDF1 and access method 'G', I am able to get additional tab in browser with PDF data and I can print on front end printer using this PDF.

However, when running ITS mobile with Z internet service link, the additional tab is not opening with PDF data. SP01 is showing as successful though.

How to print on front end printer on ITS mobile .

Thanks

Hi Mohammad,

Note that ITSmobile is a technology to render simplified HTML pages for (primitive) handheld devices. There is no code to deal with PDFs or printing. The PDF file can be created in the ABAP backend, but again, there is node to handle for such file in ITSmobile.

Does your device has a printer attached to it? I never saw an ITSmobile application with printing capabilities - this is more a feature used via WEBGUI (SAP GUI for HTML).

Cris

Hi Cris,

We have requirement of printing to a bluetooth printer attached to hand held device. Both are from Zebra and Hand held is running on Android. As per manufacturer, they asked to have printer as front end in pop up, and select that printer.

Since pairing of Hand held and printer changes in every shift, we can't have this as network printer.

Hi Mohammad,

Can you share the version of the system you are running? Is it an S/4 HANA implementation? As of S/4 HANA 1909 you could use touch devices like iPads and Android tablets via WEBGUI (then the printing should work). You can read about this support in SAP Note 2658822.

If it is an older release, then the alternative would be using the SAP Screen Personas product: the Slipstream Engine can be used in mobile devices.
