Freight Order/Freight Booking from Shipping Point to Destination Port/Shipto Party

Hi,

We have a requirement where Business needs one Freight Order or one Freight Booking from Shipping Point to Destination Port/Ship to party.

Example:

Shipping point(A) -->Port Of Loading(B)-->Port of Destination(C)-->Ship to Party(D)

Stage1:Freight Order1: Shipping point(A) -->Port Of Loading(B)

Stage2:Freight Booking: Port Of Loading(B)-->Port of Destination(C)

Stage3:Freight Order2: Port of Destination(C)-->Ship to Party(D)

But Business is requesting as below.

Case1:

Shipping point(A) -->Ship to Party(D), so only 1 stage : Freight Order/Freight Booking from A->D

Case2:

Shipping point(A) -->Port of Destination(C), so only 1 stage: Freight Order/Freight Booking from A->C

Is it possible and acceptable like this?

Please share your suggestions.

Hi,

the point here is if you use Freight boking you can't created a FO for pickup/ delivery because from FB you need to have the stages/Locations.

If you use Freight Order, will not be able to have any freight booking as the FU have only one stage.

As you have different scenarios you could use it:

would suggest to use stage profile as some of the stage will be not for Planning.

Hi Rogerio,

I have been following your answers on this question as I have also a similar scenario, where there is no need to plan a stage , ( only thing valid is to check and validate the updated events and execution status ) ..As I can check the execution status as well as update events on Freight unit, is it Ok not to create any freight order for the stage ?

If we create a Freight Unit with Single Stage from Shipping Point to Ship to party and for that stage can we create a Freight Booking?

i.e Freight Booking for the stage from Shipping Point to Ship to party.

Is it correct to create like this??

Hi Rogerio,

We have created stage profile with 3 stage types - 01, 03 and 04.

FU is created with 3 stages but unfortunately planning block is being set for the stages.

When we maintain the From and TO location for stage2 in the FU, then planning block is getting removed.

It is the Standard behavior?

We dont need planning block for stage2.

You need to have the right stages to create the FO/FB ( FB without right stage type can not ccreate a FO for Pickup/Delivery, you should use the stages as:

Stage1:Freight Order1: Shipping point(A) -->Port Of Loading(B)

Stage2:Freight Booking: Port Of Loading(B)-->Port of Destination(C)

Stage3:Freight Order2: Port of Destination(C)-->Ship to Party(D)

However, User is requesting that below can be configured in the system/is it possible?

Note:User is saying that Forwarding Agent will pick the goods from Shipping Point and deliver to Port of Destination(C)/or Ship to Party(D), irrespective of Stages.
