Free item category for BOM

Hi All,

   Had a question for free goods determination for Kit items. I have a scenario where the Kit header item is relevant for pricing whereas its components are not relevant for pricing. Currently it is not possible to assign manual item category (tan) for kit header item since it’s graded out, unlike its components after BOM explosion where we can populate the manual item category in sales order. Is there any possibility that I can make the header item free of charge by populating the item category (tann) manually.

We use a separate Sales Order Type for Free of Charge Deliveries.

This enables us to have a separate Item Category for BOM Header which is Free of Charge (Pricing B - 100% Discount) being determined automatically when BoM Header Material (Item Cat. Group ERLA) is added in Free of Charge Order Type.
