Hello Experts,
After creation of a new forecast model do we need to assign it to the planning objects?
Or during the forecast run, when we select the model it takes all the relevant planning objects and gives the relevant results?
My understanding is if we need different forecast models for different combinations in the same planning area we use this assignment. Please provide your inputs.
Regards,
A.Basu.

Hello A.Basu,
SAP Help Portal says at the chapter Assign Forecast Models:
'The Assign Forecast Models app allows you to specify which forecast model is to be used for calculating the mid- or long-term forecast for the planning objects (combinations of master data characteristics) that exist at a selected planning level within a selected planning area.'
This is an optional steps, you dont need to do it. If you want to use different forecast for different planning object, you can use this.
Best regards,
Melinda
