Hi All,
Can we use Time Series based Forecast Consumption profile in unified planning area? Or is it just specific to standard supply module?
Request clarification before answering.
You don't need the full blown SAP4, just specific objects. You can adjust the existing copy of SAPIBP1, or even enhance a SAP7-copy for orderbased planning. Only if you want to run the forecast consumption integrated with a heuristic or optimizer run, you need the supply configuration (which SAPIBP1 has as well), but you don't need it all if you run the independent "TS-Based Forecast Consumption" operator that just does the consumption.
Just in SAP4 it is already preconfigured.
But you can just copy the master data type S4FORECASTCONSUMPTIONMODE into your name space and add it to your planning area.
And there is the recommendation to not combine it with the usage of demand prioritization (demand categories) in the same planning area, and it is not compatible if you plan to do shelf life planning coming with 1811.

My suggestion would copy SAP4 planning area master data types and key figures to your planning area.

Hi Matt,
I confirmed with IBP product management team forecast consumption in SAPIBP1 along with sample business process is planned for next release (1902).
You would like to test it in SAPIBP1 make the adjustment as per SAP4 planning area.
Master data type FORECASTCONSUMPTIONMODE available in your planning area.

Hi Matt - I don't see any reason why it doesn't work in unified planning area as long as you configure it taking the reference of S4 planning area. May I know what triggered you to think that it doesn't work in UPA?
Thanks,
