Forecast algorithm as per IBP Licensing

while implementing the forecasting, we were told of having only S&OP license which means the available algorithms would be:

  1. Single Exponential Smoothing,
  2. Double Exponential Smoothing,
  3. Triple Exponential Smoothing,
  4. Simple Moving Average, and
  5. Simple Average.

(ref: Applications and Features of SAP Integrated Business Planning for Supply Chain | SAP Help Portal)

but when we are configuring/creating the Forecast model we observed other algorithms are also available.

does that mean these algorithms are available within S&OP licensing? or its just can be used in test or development but cannot be used in Production environment.

I can see "demand sensing" was not available but outlier correction, and other preprocessing options are available

similarly other algorithms are also available:

will there be any licensing issue or new upgrade from IBP?

Just worried by using other algorithm will not make us "non-Compliant" even if we will use in test server.

Hi Devesh,

the algorithms can be visible even though they are not part of your license. However, you are only allowed to use the ones included in your license.

Here you can find an overview of what is included in the S&OP license:

Thanks Laura,

But what if I or anyone from my team for testing purpose included other algorithm which is not part of S&OP? will it be a Non-Compliance OR SAP can raise a separate invoice as we used those algorithm (even in Development or Test Environment?)

I think in case of repeated use (not just once by mistake) SAP would raise a separate invoice. But please check with your account manager on SAP side to clarify this, as I am not an expert in licensing.
