Fixed Bin Stock Removal stragegy not working

Hello Gurus,

I´m facing a problem with Fixed Bin Stock Removal stragegy... For a ODO the system creates the WT with another source bin, not the one assigned to the material in /SCWM/BINMAT.

I have configured all the points where, I think, the fixed bin removal strategy is parameterized: Storage type master data set to fixed bin, storage type search sequence, etc.

I´ve created an entry in "Stock removal rule" with the sort field "EMPTY_FIXBIN" but is not working.

I´ve found also a SAP note where they tell that the fixed bin removal strategy is useless - Note: 2874420. So I´m a bit confused.

Can anyone help with this issue?

Thanks a lot.

KR.

Hi,

ok, the note is ... nonsense. Has really nothing to do with fixed bins, resp. of course fixed bins are not prioritized.

"I´ve created an entry in "Stock removal rule" with the sort field "EMPTY_FIXBIN" but is not working."

... what??? Why would you do that? All you need is a rule like FIFO. Or if you have more then one fixed bin, you can think about sorting by quantity.

Thanks a lot Juergen,

But even with FIFO stock removal rule, the system creates the WT with another Bin from the same storage type as the fixed bin, but not the one assigned to the material.

After your guidance, I´m paying attention to storage type master data is set to "use Fixed Bin" and /SCWM/BINMAT ... Anything else?

Thanks,

KR.

Did you double-check the assignment of the fixed bin? When you created the WT and the system used a different bin, it might have done another assignment (the system can automatically assign fixed bins).

The other point to check is if you allow negative stocks in the storage type, because then a bin with no stock can be selected.

Thanks again Juergen,

But yes, I´m always checking the fixed bin assginment before creating the WT:

/SCWM/BINMAT

I´ve tried with negative stock allowed, and not allowed in the storage type, but the result is the same.

It seems that always takes the first Bin which finds with stock:

Fixed Bin: 02-04-A

There is stock also in 01-04-A, and the WT is created from this one.

If I move the stock from 01-04-A to 02-01-A, for instace, the system creates the WT with 02-01-A, becasuse is before 02-04-A.

I´ve checked the bin sorting for activity but I think there is no relationship between this, and WT Bin determination.

Any more ideas???

Thanks a lot,

KR.

This same issue we are also facing, system is not taking the fixed bin.
