Hi all,

Are the ECC PP-SOP Sales and Operations transactions still supported in S4 Hana Fiori Apps? I couldn't find the App catalog they are assigned to in the Fiori Apps Library. Missing are tcodes like MC81, MC87 .

Thanks!

Technically it is possible to use Sales and Operations Planning in a S/4HANA system.

SOP is not considered as a strategic solution so I won't expect that SAP will deliver Fiori apps for it, especially taking into account that it is included in the Compatibility Pack.

I understand that the client is not willing to pay for IBP but as a consultant it may be wise to advise them to consider the implications of using this specific solution. According to SAP note 2269324 - Compatibility Scope Matrix for SAP S/4HANA on-premise the right to use SOP will expire by 31.12.2025 which means that by then they will need to purchase some solution (it does not necessarily mean IBP) or resort to Excel spreadsheets.

IMHO implementing a completely different solution for planning a few years after go-live will be harder compared to having a good longer-term strategy before the productive start.

It is technically possible to add manually standard or custom SAP transactions a FIORI tiles (I have not tried the ones which you mentioned though) by following this guide. Still, for your use case it is probably better to speak again with the client.

Hi Veselina, thank you for your answer. Any cons or risks you could think of if we eventually end up transforming these soon to be obsolete tcodes into Fiori Apps? Thanks!

bear.boy the risks are not associated with the creation of Fiori tiles for these transactions (except the additional work for you).

The risks are that you and the client will spend time and effort (including user training and configuration) for a solution which will work for a limited time, then the client will have to spend more money and effort to implement a different solution and to retrain the users. And by 2025 most probably the users would have mastered SOP so some resistance and de-motivation can be expected. At the very least your client needs to be aware that SOP can be used for a limited time so that they can prepare well in advance for a transition to a different solution (in case the main reason for choosing SOP is budget constraints).

Hello,

As I know there is no development in area of sales and operation planning in S4H. However it has moved to IBP SAP Integrated Business Planning for sales and operations.

IBP supports all the features of SOP like – Forecasting, Multi-level planning, along with some advanced features like – advanced statistical forecasting, multi-level supply planning, an optimizer, collaboration tools, using an Excel-based UI

Please refer SAP note for more details

Hi R Brahmankar, thanks for your reply.

Do you mean to say SOP will not be used in S4H as Fiori apps? I could still see from the GUI that the SOP tcodes are still in there.

Thanks

Hello,

Yes there is no Fiori apps in S4H and old SOP transactions are there.

PP SOP is intended as a bridge or interim solution, which can be used until IBP is available as part of SAP S/4HANA.

Hi R Brahmanka, but in case my client doesn't want to buy IBP but use SOP in S4H, is it possible? Do I have to create the Fiori Apps myself for the SOP transactions?
