Finite Heuristic Prioritization

On taking a run with Finite Heuristics in IBP, we observe that one product is always prioritized over the other in a particular week when there is a capacity constraint. There are no costs maintained (late delivery or non delivery) for either of the products. On what basis is the system generating a plan?

Hi Pallavi,

I think this is a random decision just as if both products would have a non-delivery cost of 100 or 1,000 or 100,000.

If one product has a higher priority over the other, you should maintain higher non-delivery costs to the higher priority product. If both of them have the same priority and you'd like to fair-share the distribution, you may considering using Fair-Share Distribution - refer to this link.

Best regards,
