Excel Edits not reflected in Simulation

Hi,

We were trying to change the editable fields and then simulate to see results under different values of the keyfigures. However the exel edits return to their original value once the simulation is run. We would like to simulate with the new values as per excel edits. Please help.

Can you please tell which key figure you are changing and what is the configuration of key figure?

Hi,

one of the keyfigure we were changing and trying to simulate is: "CAPASUPPLY".

The key figure output is marke as "stored". It is currently marked as "Editable in the Current or Future". Aggregation mode is "Sum", Disaggregation mode is: "Proportional if aggregated value is not zero; otherwise, equal distribution"

This post is quite old, is it still open?

If yes,

- which release are you on?

- are you talking about user-specific scenarios or configured versions?

- did you copy standard planning area (which?) and work with the copied versions?

- CAPASUPPLY is input for Supply. Do you just try to change the figure itself, or did you run heuristic and the result does not consider your changed input?

- did you try to save the changed values in the version before executing heuristic? If not, and if you now try and get error message, you may have forgotten to initialize the version by copying the value from base version to the simulation version

Hi Irmhild,

1) We are on IBP 5.0

2) Its a copy of SAP 2 only

3) SAP2

4) In xl add in we are changing the value and trying to simulate it. 1 Example that happened today is that we changed the target revenue values for future periods in the xl addin in Product Family- Customer Region planning level and tried to simulate it (basic simulation) in xl. However we found the xl responded by change of Target vs Consensus alert value, but the Target Rev values based on which the simulation ran disappeared.

5) If we save it, it just vanishes

6) This is another problem we faced today. We have uploaded Target Qty KF values along with Target Rev, Unit of Measure and UOM conversion factor. However we are not able to see the value of Target Qty and Target Rev reflecting in the xl. Error massage: No Data Found

Please help.

Now as I understand your problem:

Unfortunately I currently face similar issues in IBP 5, which I am still analysing. Might be a bug, at least I could not find an error in my configuration, and it is somehow random. Occurs with different Excel AddOn Versions on several KF, so I would rule out AddIn as root cause.

I still try to find out whether it could be related to wrong / missing master data (e.g. no conversion factors maintained, inconsistent master data, the usual stuff...)

I can give an update when I am ready testing and found root cause or opened OSS

But for now I cannot help you further, sorry.

My Update: I meanwhile tested quiote a lot and came to the conclusion that on my side it must be code error, so I just opened OSS message

we had a couple of issues around excel in IBP 5

Most of them could be solved with the new Excel AddIn 5.0.7 from February 3rd

One issue was additionally that we could not change data that have been in the past before a certain time horizon. So e.g. KF "adjusted History" was enabled to be changed in the past, and my planning area allowed 2 years back, but I could only maintain one year back. Root cause for that was that I had additional days that where only on 365 days in the past. After I doublicated that, I could maintain all past (nasty workaround, will likely be solved with IBP6)

Plus one more: I have daily buckets in the planning area, but the KF I want to maintain is one monthly bucket. KF is set to changeable current and future, but I cannot maintain the current months. I can maintain that with the test addOn I have for IBP6, but not with the latest IBP5 addon. Will be solved with AddOn IBP 5.0.8
