Hi,

Can you please provide an example on Additional Financial Data (AFD).

Why do we use this? I expect the answer with an example as I have already read the concept of AFD in below link.

One example of AFD is the entry in BCS of a change in the investment in a subsidiary along with the corresponding change in the parent company's equity. This is used by the consolidation of investments task.

Another example of AFD is the recording of the margins for intercompany inventory which is used for the elimination of the profit in inventory.

Thanks for the reply.

Could you please provide a start to end business example with journal entries.

Hi Dan,

I had already gone through these examples but not able to correlate these examples with AFD.

I just need an example with journal entries from reported data (total recrods) to AFD.

Appreciate your reply.

The AFD is supplemental to the reported data.

For example investments in subs would be entered in AFD for COI if the COI settings are to read the investment data from AFD. In this case the users would need to enter AFD for the investments in subs in order for COI to eliminate this against the subsidiary's equity.

Thanks Dan.

Now I see in AFD task method investment & equity data collection is through manual and flexible upload and in COI location of values investment data is from AFD and equity is from AFD and total database.
