Hello together,
I have a question which is related to the storage sections / storage section indicator in EWM.
We want to store materials in a storage type; we want to store flammable and not flammable materials there and therefore there is the restriction not to store the flammable materials in the top level.
From my point of view we can use storage setctions; we can divide the stroage type into sections, e.g. flammable and not flammable section.
The issue within this is that we want to depict this situation by using the master data in the warehouse product. We want to assign an appropriate section to a certain material so that the system knows where to store the material (at least as a suggestion).
In the master data of the warehouse product there is the storage section indicator available, not the storage sections. The storage bins are assigned to a storage section. Is it also possible to use the storage section indicator for this purpose?
Thank you and best regards

Hi,
"We want to store materials in a storage type; we want to store flammable and not flammable materials there and therefore there is the restriction not to store the flammable materials in the top level."
One of the scenarios what storage sections can be used for.
"In the master data of the warehouse product there is the storage section indicator available, not the storage sections. The storage bins are assigned to a storage section. Is it also possible to use the storage section indicator for this purpose?"
That is how it works. The storage section determination is by using the section indicator in the warehouse product. You can also use the haz mat rating for this, but if you are not using that, the section indicator is ok.

And it is EWM. NOT eWM - Duh!
And if your question includes the word "transfer order" - do NOT tag the question with Extended Warehouse Management!
