EWM Space Calculation

Is there a way in EWM to calculate space utilization by product? For example, I work for a tire company and we allocate space to certain BU's within a certain facility.

Let's say the building is 100K square feet. We will allocate 50% to Business Unit A, 25% to business unit B, and 25% to business unit C. Each business unit has unique products associated with them. The issue we are experiencing is that BU A will claim that BU B is using more than their allotted 25% space which causes confusion and arguments between the BU's. We now manually measure the space to ensure utilization compliance.

My question is, systematically, how can I set up EWM to give me a report that tells me how much space a given business unit is using at one time in sq ft. Does anyone have any experience in developing something like this.

Thanks,

Rashad

Hi Rashad Hinton,

As per my understanding, You can achieve space calculation information from EWM.

Pseudo Mapping:

BU-> Plant (ERP)-> Party Entitled or Owner(EWM)

As per the physical Layout, Total No of Locations in Warehouse(100K square feet) = 100 Bins (Storage Type-Section-Bin Type) in EWM

-> Suppose you are not fixing the area as per the BU so you can putaway the inventory any of 100 Bins. In EWM, you would get Stock report bin(STock Overview Monitor) level from where you would be able to analyse the bins (( locations/area/Sq feet) with Stocks (Available Stock) as per the BU (Party Entitled or Owner).

Please read the EWM Technical defination so you would get more clarity.
