All,
What help there is for the end user on EWM Queue monitoring ? Are there any 'end user' reports that can be used to bring this to life for the end user.
Really looking at how this can be practically managed without SAP expertise to the end user level.
Would be interested to see if there was any advice here or innovative solutions.
Request clarification before answering.
Juergen,
thanks for the links but I am really looking for a end user report to highlight the detail of the queue. The Warehouse Monitor is great for SAP experts but not very user friendly to point to the queue issue and how to resolve.
The problem with the EWM to S4 Interface is that you just do not get the actions/messages to a end user to execute. A user will transact in EWM and it will fail but there is no immediate prompt that that transaction has not gone through. I understand that it is a bolt on but because of the critical nature of the interface it would be nice for some nice user friendly reports based on the queue monitor.
Be interested to know how customers are dealing with this. I suspect dedicated resource is used to clear the queues...not great.
cheers

Hello David,
"The Warehouse Monitor is great for SAP experts but not very user friendly to point to the queue issue and how to resolve."
Au contraire ;-). I would say the warehouse monitor is the most user friendly to resolve queue issues. OK, maybe it is due to a lack of other tools. But what are the standard transactions to see what is happening in a queue? SMQ1 and SMQ2. In there you do not see really much, you have to drill down in the individual queues, and a display program for the various logs needs to be assigned in order to check the log.
The warehouse management monitor shows directly what business object (like which delivery) is involved in the queue, it shows what the system is trying to do, and in most cases shows the error directly. Most cases, still sometimes it is necessary to check the log. And it shows it for all relevant queues together. You can trigger reprocessing from here, or also a rejection (which might be necessary. I would not know how to do that otherwise).

Hi,
the best place for EWM queue monitoring is the Warehouse Management Monitor.

And it is EWM. NOT eWM - Duh!
And if your question includes the word "transfer order" - do NOT tag the question with Extended Warehouse Management!
