Dear EWM team
We are facing a weird RFUI behavior
System was supposed to redirect me to the serial number screen after the source screen in order to confirm the picking of this specific SN maintained in SO/Outbound delivery.
Nevertheless, after confirming the WO/WT SN is correctly moved to target bin.
When i do not populate the SN in ERP SO/outbound delivery, i'm correctly redirected to the SN picking screen in RF and the screen sequence/navigation is fine (source/RF/target).
Thank you for your support
Best regards

Hello,
That's not weird , but standard behavior.
Normal approach for serial numbers is you need to scan serial numbers while picking process. This is only valid when you haven't assigned serial numbers already in S4 CORE OBD, and you are not picking a FULL HU.
If you have already assigned serial numbers in S4 CORE OBD then system will take care of these serial numbers while creating WT to assign correct source storage bin (I hope serialization level is set as C- Inventory). While confirming WT, system won't ask you to scan the serial number. You need to make sure here to pick correct serial number physically. This has been designed in this way because system won't update back the EWM picked serial number back to S4 CORE OBD. Example: S4 CORE serial number is S900. You scanned the serial number (In fact scan option is not given here :)) S901. Now system need to replace serial number S900 to S901 at the time of GI . This behavior is not set in the system currently and not foreseen as standard as well. If you assign serial numbers in S4 CORE itself then you need to make sure to pick the right serial number physically. no scan validation is available here in standard system.
Also, if you need to pick FULL HU (even if serial numbers are not coming from S4 CORE), serial number popup won't come for scanning.
I hope this is clear now.
You can also check the step flow of the logical transaction to check SAP behavior to skip the serial popup taking help of a developer.

Thank you so much for your answer Aslam
Indeed, the idea is to provide the warehouse operator the SN information in order to "confirm" the specific part he has to pick (e.g a specific part/SN to be repaired). If he picks a different part than the one maintained in OTB, it will bring so much confusion.
I guess this issue can be solved by creating custom SN validation screen between source & target screen.
Thanks again

yes, in that case you can have custom development to validate serial numbers coming from ECC while picking.
