Our business scenario for goods receipt process goes through two storage types.
First step, storage type with location independent stock type 'BB' because the purchase order is created with stock type 'S' blocked stock.
Last step, storage type with location independent stock type 'FF' because final storage bin stock type is in unrestricted use.
After goods receipt process is completed:
We are trying to make a posting change with a new warehouse process type from F2 to B6 but we ware facing error message "target stock type B6 is not allowed in storage type"
Can we solve this with an exception code or any workaround?
Request clarification before answering.
Hi ,
Since Mandatory flag is enabled , when you trying to move the blocked stock to the storage type with Non. Dep stock type "FF" setting , it will do the automatic posting change to unrestricted..

Should have been clearer, if you want an answer you still need to deliver some info. Connections between storage locations / availability groups / loc-independent stock types / EWM stock types? You write you want to do a posting change from F2 to B6. F2 in the standard is unrestricted stock, while "B" I would associate with something blocked. So this is the other way around then what you describe in your scenario (where the last storage type should contain unrestricted, and that is also what you screenshot shows (if this is the final storage type)). What you mean with "First step, storage type with location independent stock type 'BB' because the purchase order is created with stock type 'S' blocked stock." - so what storage type is that? And if the PO is created with stock type S - why would you do ANYTHING in the storage type?
"Last step, storage type with location independent stock type 'FF' because final storage bin stock type is in unrestricted use." - as Vivek wrote in his answer, with this setting the system should do the posting into FF (from whatever stock type you have the material in) automatically - so why have a warehouse process type?

That's right Juergen, Vivek. It's the outlined inbound process here.
But, after the product it's stored in final storage type (posted into FF unrestricted stock). At a later date warehouse clerk might do a posting change to B6 (e.g damaged product). My question is if it's possible to handle this posting change in same storage type with actual set up?

Hi,
"My question is if it's possible to handle this posting change in same storage type with actual set up?"
No. What does the error message say? "target stock type B6 is not allowed in storage type" - because of the "FF" non-dep. stock type and the mandatory flag. So inside this storage type you can only have unrestricted stock.

Hi,
"Can we solve this with an exception code or any workaround?"
The "workaround" would be the proper settings in the storage type, maybe some other settings as well. Not even trying to understand this process, but you need to give some more details how your storage type is set up.

And it is EWM. NOT eWM - Duh!
And if your question includes the word "transfer order" - do NOT tag the question with Extended Warehouse Management!
