We have an STO process, with materials with type A serial numbers.
Because of this, the incoming delivery must arrive at EWM with the serial numbers already reported: as if it were a Customer return.
Is it mandatory to report serial numbers to make the Goods Receipt?
We are finding that not all equipment is being updated correctly in S4: for example, the ERP inbound delivery is not being updated.
Request clarification before answering.
Hi xavier.fuentes.tafall.1973,
What is your S4 Version Embedded/Decentral ? Do you have HU?
Could you please read below OSS Note.
2755266 - Serial Numbers are not copied into inbound delivery using SPED
Kind Regards,
Ajit

Hi, Ajit
Thanks for your answer, but the note you told me does not reflect my scenario.
In my scenario, it's just the inbound delivery what going to EWM that has been generated in S4 with a SPED message from an outbound delivery: Out. Del. S4 (SPED mess.) => Inb. Del. S4 => Inb. Del. EWM
When this inbound delivery arrives at EWM, it has all serial numbers reported (these are type A, for outbound only).
I pack first, but without reading any serial numbers. After, in a single step, I unload and do the goods receipt.
Then, I go to the S4 inbound delivery and only see part of my serial numbers updated on it.
Greatings
xavier.fuentes.tafall.1973 ,
Sorry for misunderstood.
"Is it mandatory to report serial numbers to make the Goods Receipt?"--> Depends on config (Yes if in item type, no if not tick in item type)...Please check the below SAP documentation links for details
Kind Regards,
Ajit
