eWM for ecommerce

Hello,

I read SAP materials and presentations carefully but I didn't find answer for question how SAP eWM address specific ecommerce SCM challenges:

  • huge quantity of very small orders wher lot/wave completation is not very useful,
  • new delivery addreses appearing constantly. New addreses should be grouped into routes basing on postal codes of the country,
  • courier company labels printed directly from eWM,
  • merchandise sorting during reception and sending directly for completation of delivery orders (order for order)

Could you guide me to appropriate materials?

Thanks in advance

Aleksander

Hi Aleksander,

  • huge quantity of very small orders where lot/wave completation is not very useful,->Option 1- 2 step picking with pick point ( Pick all the quantity then distribute to individual order ( OSS Note 2195036 - Pick to Store ) .Option 2- Combined Picking
  • new delivery addreses appearing constantly. New addreses should be grouped into routes basing on postal codes of the country,->"You have made sure that the goods recipient in the delivery has been assigned to a supply chain unit that is being used for route determination.
As a business partner or address is entered in the delivery as a goods recipient, an assignment still has to be made with which the destination location used in a route is determined.
This is done in the following way:
    • If a document address is entered in the delivery for the goods recipient, the system attempts to find a supply chain unit zone based on the address data. This zone is then used as the destination location for route determination.
    • If no document address is used, a corresponding supply chain unit is found in the following way:
If you are working without an address or without a zone as a destination location in the route, you have created an individual supply chain unit for the ship-to party in the supply chain unit master data. In the Bus.Partner field on the General tab page, you assign this supply chain unit to the business partner (ship-to party) that has been entered in the delivery." Check the link for details.Route Setting
  • courier company labels printed directly from eWM-> Option-1 Printing Handling Unit Documents ( shipping label ), option 2- Integrating of Courier using Express Shipping Interface ( Integration with Courier Company system ) where label can be print from EWM and send the data to courier company for shipment tracking.
  • merchandise sorting during reception and sending directly for completation of delivery orders (order for order)-> I believe this is a flow-through .Check Merchandise Distribution: Product-Driven Flow-Through and Merchandise Distribution: Recipient-Driven Flow-Through

Please review the above and let us know if you have further queries.

Kind Regards,

Ajit
