EWM Automatic Creation of Multiple Pick-HU with WOCR

Hi experts,

In my current project we have a planned replenishment scenario in which we are creating a WT from a storage type with Pallet HU, to a storage type that will have only Cartons HU. Both storage types use fixed bins. At the moment of WO creation, i want that the system creates as many Pick-HU cartons as needed , according to the replenishment quantity and the packaging specification i've maintained.

I was thinking of doing this in the following way:

- Assign WOCR to my Repl. WPT (attac. 1 and 2) attach1.jpg attach2.jpg

- Assign Packing Profile with HU creation to my WOCR (Attach 3) attach3.jpg

- Maintain Pack. Spec with HU creation for condition type 0BDL, with carton quantity (Attch 4,5 and 6) attach-4.jpg attach5.jpg attach-6.jpg

- Assign Starting point/bin to my Activity Area / Activity (REPL)

When i create a Replenishment WT of 50 units (Attach 7), having in mind my pack.spec of 25 units per carton, i would expect that system creates 2 pick-hu cartons. attach-7.jpg

Instead system is creating only one Pick-HU (Attach 😎 when creating the WO. This is the first error. Any ideia on why is this happening? attach-8.jpg

The second error is that when i try to proceed with the confirmation in the RF, by pressing the next button, error ' E: Whse process control must not be deac' is displayed.

If i try to confirm the quantity of 50 units to my pick-hu carton in the BackOffice, a different error displays: 'No existing fixed storage bins found in storage type XXX'. I'm guessing this is because my source storage type, is a fixed bin storage type, and my 'starting point' bin for the activity area / activity is not a fixed bin..

If i do not assign a starting point to my activity area/activity, HU are not automatically created, but confirmation of quantity to the pick-HU carton goes OK, and Pick-HU moves to destination storage type as expected.

Any ideias on what i might be missing here? How would you tackle this requirement?

Thank you in advance for your time and help with this topic.

Regards,

João

That one is the simpler question: when you determine a packaging specification for a WOCR, the system does not use the quantity you enter in the packaging specification. With the "simple algorithm" the system just checks if the capacity of the packaging material (weight and volume) is big enough and creates HUs as required. No error, it simply does not work the way you think in this process.

Either your packaging material for this process needs to be smaller (so that just 25 pieces fit in), or you need a packaging specification which is used already for the WT creation, so that you get two WTs from the beginning.

Hello Juergen,

Regarding this sentence packaging specification which is used already for the WT creation, so that you get two WTs from the beginning, I have already tried to create new packspec. for the same product with condition type 0WHT but it does not work. Do I understand you correctly, or do I miss something. Could you please advise?

Thanks and regards

Hi Juergen,

Thank you for the clarification.

In fact, as you said, in my pack.spec i've limited the capacity of each Carton to 25 Kg. System is now creating 1 WO, with 2 WT, each one for 25 Kg.

Regarding my second question ' The second error is that when i try to proceed with the confirmation in the RF, by pressing the next button, error ' E: Whse process control must not be deac' is displayed.', i was missing the setting of the option '3 - Storage Control is Not Relevant' in my WPT for Pick-HU WT for Current Resource - copy of WPT 3050.

System is now creating automatically 2 HU's carton and confirmation in RF goes as expected.

Thank you,

João

Hi Joao,

did you try the second option from the answer from Mr. Juergen? Did it ever work with the WT creation packspec?

Thanks and regards,

Hello again, shadowfiend :

I see you've asked some questions as comments on this page. But this thread is from 4 years ago and includes a "former member" (who won't be notified that you've commented on his answer). It's highly unlikely you'll get any guidance this way -- and, in fact, members don't particularly like it when old questions get resurrected in this fashion.

The best practice is to ask a new question (as you did here: https://answers.sap.com/questions/13718963/automatic-creation-of-multiple-pick-hu-with-wocr.html). So you may want to delete your comments here and focus on your new question.

I hope this helps!
