EWM 9.3 Voice Picking Integration with IBM Mainframe

Hi Experts -

My company is in the early stages of migrating from a legacy WM to SAP EWM. We are using voice picking with Vocallect / IBM Mainframe which is communicating to legacy WM via Socket commands.

My question is related to integration with EWM 9.3. WIll our existing mainframe application integration with SCM EWM? What challenges are in our future?

Thanks for the quick response. I have read multiple articles / blogs in regard to Mainframe integration with EWM which is problematic at best.

SAP NetWeaver XI creates the opportunity for real-time, bidirectional data flows between mainframe applications and SAP modules, but our plan is not to migrate mainframe to SAP and only integrate with it. Should we consider a migration strategy versus an integration strategy for mainframe?

Hi,

If you are still planning to use Vocollect, then, this means you won't use EWM's Voice picking.

So this is the same scenario with legacy WM; you need to develop communication between EWM and Vocollect.
