[EP1] Quality hold location VS Cycle counting

Hi Team.

First Time Question. New to the community and to SAP. I am happy to be here and hope to stay long enough to start helping others.

My company is having trouble with quality holds and cycle counting.

SITUATION: Currently we have our quality hold set up as a digital location. We run into issues because we don't have a physical location to match. We won't be able to get one either. We run into issues during cycle counting because we use a EP1>SQ01>ABAP report to see what inventory and quantity we have location to location. With this set up even if the physical location has inventory assigned to a quality location hold my report does not show it. Additionally, if I were to include our quality location in the report it would include all inventory in that location, and it could be any number of items located anywhere across the whole plant.

IDEAL SOLUTION: Is there a way to implement a quality hold [inventory will not be unrestricted] regardless of the assigned digital location for the inventory?__ I like to think [maybe incorrectly because I'm new] that I will be able to perform location movements [digitally] or to create my EP1>SQ01>ABAP report to see what inventory and quantity we have location to location. for every status of that inventory [unrestricted, quality, blocked...] maybe there is a checkbox somewhere "[X]-Quality Hold" or a transaction that changes the status of the inventory without moving it.
