Embedded EWM User role in S4Hana

Hello everyone,

i have customized all the SAP Scope Items for embedded EWM. Now i try to tests my settings using the SAP best practice scenarios for the scope Iteme (like e.g. 1FS_S4HANA1611_BDP).

The EWM user roles in that document are Z_EWM_BR_WORKER and Z_EWM_BR_CLERK. But there are no information about that roles. They are not part of the EWM system. Furthermore the only EWM role that i have found is SAP_BR_WAREHOUSE_CLERK_EWM.

Does anybody know where to find more information about the Z_EWM roles? As there are no information there is at the moment no chance to use the S4Hana Web Fronted for the embedded EWM transaction.

Dear Thomas,

you are welcome! I guess you have missed some basic prerequisite Fiori settings. You have to replicate the app descriptors from back-end system. You can try the following:

1. Call transaction SE38

2. Enter report name /UI2/GET_APP_DESCR_REMOTE_DEV and choose Execute.

3. Maintain the System Alias, Catalog ID, Extraction Mode and select the suitable option for Testmode.

Result: The technical catalog are replicated now. You can now use the 'SAP Fiori Launchpad Designer' to maintain the required metadata as the business catalogs etc.

You can find more information in the configuration guide 'SAP S/4HANA other app Types Deployment (MAL)'.

many thanks for your answer. I have just testet your steps an it seems to work fine. I have now the catalog in the Fiory Launchpad Designer. I will now try to do the steps from the document FLP_for_S4HANA_Basic_Warehouse_Management_ConfigGuide. Thank you!

many thanks for your answer. I checked out the document FLP_for_S4HANA_Basic_Warehouse_Management_ConfigGuide_EN_XX. Now I have the next problem. The necessary catalog SAP_TC_SCM_EWM_BE_APPS:S4SCM which is mentioned in that document can not be found in the Launch Pad Designer (using /n/UI2/FLPD_CUST).

Are there any prerequisites required so that i can find and use the catalog (as described in the above document)?

thanks for reaching out. The Z_EWM_BR_WORKER and Z_EWM_BR_CLERK are not part of the system (no standard roles). More information about the SAP Best Practices for extended warehouse management in SAP S/4HANA is provided via note 2351332. Attached to this note you can find a configuration guide that provides detailed descriptions on how to use the SAP Fiori Launchpad Designer to configure the two roles and to enable the usage of SAP Fiori Launchpad in the business process testing.
