Q: Server sizing and software details

A: No sizing guide available yet. For software and hardware requirements, we'll leverage partner resources. Details to be disclosed soon

Q: Edge needs any DB if yes DB details (Any database (SQL, Oracle) required for SAP Edge .)

A: Currently only PostgreSQL 14 supported; SQL Server being planned

Q: Any network connectivity (Or any protocol) required from SAP Edge to SAP DMC

A: HTTPS / gRPC

Q:What is Kubernetes in Edge & Kubernetes Cluster

Q:Frequency of Cloud connection failure, and the response time to restore the production operations

A: Edge works offline; cloud connection is required only for data sync

Q:Total time Edge can support on the shopfloor to carry on the production as is?

A: Depending on the specific customer scenarios

Q:What is the chance of production connector failing the network?

A: N/A

Q:how many instruments can be connected to one SAP Edge Device and operator load that device can handle?

A: There is no realistic limit with the number of devices connected. It is rather the scenarios that shall be run. And this cannot be answered in general. However, if there is any limit reached, the customer may easily add another Prod Con and continue.

Q:Sync time (Data replication) between the SAP DM and Edge (of Order, recipe and POD etc)

A: Depending on the data volume. Latest test was less than 1 minute for ~10,000 objects, not including POD

Q:Limitations of SAP DM Edge compare to SAP DM Functionalities.

A: Mission-critical operations (subset of execution functionalities) on DM Edge
