Early Inspection lot missing storage location after GR

HI Gurus,

We have inspection type 04 with early inspection lot. This creates the inspection lot with process order release.

When we do the GR against process order for HU managed/EWM storage location, storage location not updated in inspection lot whereas when GR done against process order with IM managed storage location, storage location updated in inspection lot.

I look down then snote 1942740, its invalid, currently on 1709.

I would ask SAP about this. There are many places where HU's don't work with all functionality of QM. EWM is in the same situation. Not everything works the same with EWM.

So you are using both processes with early lot creation so it doesn't surprise me you find issues.

So my question is, since you inspect these basically by HU does storage location matter for the inspection lot? Isn't the whole point of using HU's and EWM is that you can ship HU's out to multiple external warehouses while under inspection? Why would their be an expectation that those HU's would all be in the same storage location if they are across multiple warehouses? Isn't that location more related to the HU and EWM?

I'm thinking SAP is intentionally not updating the storage location in the inspection lot because it's not really relevant for this scenario. But this is just me thinking out loud. I'm not saying this because I know it for a fact!!

It's why, if you need this info, I would ask SAP about it.

It may be the problem of option in Control inspection Lot setting in Material Master--> QM View-->Inspection .Setup-->Inspection type--> Control inspection Lot.
