EAM Integration AIN / Asset Central

I am following the integration guide for integrating EAM and Asset Central.
Is it possible to start with "Lookup and Link" without an initial load? (Chapter 7 / 9)

Yes. Think about operator, there might be operator which are not uploading any equipments but consuming data from their manufacturers.

Of Course, you can do it...but it will not synchronize your data...with this, you would able to identify the asset central foundation tab in the linked objects...Hope you are aware that, to have real-time synchronization, one should set the desired equipment categories under Sync-MDO...

I feel the purpose of the two actions Lookup&Link and Initial Load have a different approach and i hope you are also aware that to link EAM technical objects to AIN models, you have to create characteristics as SAP_AIN_01 with the description as Model and SAP_AIN_02 with the description as Manufacturer and assign to characteristic group SAP_AIN, also create a class as ZSAP_AIN with the description as SAP AIN class linking EAM to AIN and assign those characteristics...

Are the characteristics like SAP_AIN_01 also required when using AIN 2002 and 1909 S/4HANA? The integration guide says nothing about this....
