Hi Experts,
At the moment we are running IBP SOP. I had a look and I couldnt find the KF "SUBPERIODSOFSUPPLYSAFESTOCK" in our system. I understand that the KF and the Lot Size procedure are part of Time Series Planning but I'm not sure whether I cant see it because it wasnt copied from the SAP model or because it only exist in Time Series Planning with Optimizer.
Can you please shed some light on what could be the reason why I cant see the KF and whether we would be able to use it (and the Lot Sizing procedure) with SOP?
Thanks in advance for your help
ps: we have plans to implement Order Based later in the year

Hi robvid,
The supply planning and supply propagation heuristics support dynamic periods of supply with safety stock. You can't use this lot-sizing procedure with the optimizer, the finite heuristic, or the shelf life planning heuristic.
You specify the number of subsequent periods in the additional coverage time span in which you want to build up safety stock in the input key figure Subperiods of Supply with Safety Stock (SUBPERIODSOFSUPPLYSAFESTOCK), with a planning level of product - location.
The planning algorithms first calculate an increased inventory target for each period, which is the maximum of the inventory target of the period and the sum of the dependent demand within the coverage time span. As a result, net demand is increased so the resulting projected inventories cover the dependent demands within the coverage time span, and also cover the increased inventory target in each period of the coverage time span. The algorithms perform their calculations based on this increased inventory target, not on the Inventory Target input key figure.
To use the dynamic periods of supply lot-sizing procedure, set the LOTSIZEPOLICY attribute to 5 on location product level.
