Dynamic BOM selection (Cement Industry specific use case)

We are working on a use case for cement industry where the system should be able to suggest the multiple combination components based on cost and other factors ( for example: component should be picked based on the less Co2 emission and less thermal energy required to burn). Standard BOM that we use does not support this functionality because system should be able to determine dynamic component selection that is not part of pre-defined BOM. For example: One of raw material can have multiple components available that can be replace with multiple components based on various factors (least cost, low Co2 emission, less thermal energy).

Please let me know if anyone had worked on this kind of requirement earlier either in S4/ECC or IBP

Hi,

Your requirement is not an SAP standard behaviour in S/4 or IBP.

Dynamic BOM selection to customize based on your requirement, during BOM selection, provide the inputs to get the replacement materials.

Example: BOM A component can be replaced with B or C then to choose B - gives you value least cost C - gives you less emission. Make sure that during BOM selection user must be selected the replacement component value based on that component replaced with the original.

This is completely custom development I would suggest getting the inputs from technical team for better requirement mapping.
