Dear All,
I want to test the scenario where 2 drivers ( team) is assigned to a freight order and accordingly the total duration for execution is adjusted.
I have made the settings FO type customizing and also made the shift and availability settings of Driver in BP master. I believe optimizer does not consider driver while planning , driver need to be assigned to FO once it is created.
When I am assigning the drivers to FO , system updates the scheduling but the Net duration is not updating. If 1 driver is assigned than also same net duration is coming as with 2 drivers. There is only one stage.
Can we plan driver to FO considering their leaves/ downtime and How 2 driver operation / 1 driver operation considering the driving hours be scheduled in TM?
Regards
Pankaj

Dear Pankaj,
Sorry for my late reaction and I hope meanwhile you already found a solution. These are very interesting questions. As far as my knowledge reach the optimizer does not take availability of drivers into account. The best you can get is assigning a default driver to a truck and if the optimizer finds the trucks it also assigns the driver, however without taking it's absences into account. We fill in a downtime on the truck when the driver is on holiday. Far from perfect, but a solution and it doesn't work if you don't work with default drivers. Another work around is manually assigning the drivers and the FO's in the gantt-chart. The Gantt-chart displays the availability of the drivers in a very intuative way, so for the planners it is quite easy to see which driver can be assigned to which freightorder.
Regarding your other question there is some kind of a solution. In customizing you have the possibility to define Scheduling constraints on MTR level. Here you can define for some activities(e.g. travel/driving) how much time should added to the freightorder for e.g. breaks/rest, this to meet legal requirements. Maybe you can convince SAP to make a condition type for scheduling constraints(as far as I am aware of it, it does not exist yet). The input parameter is the number of drivers and the evaluation result the constraint set. So for example, if 2 drivers are assigned to a FO for each 8 hours driving 1 hours must be added for breaks/rest and if only 1 driver is assigned for each 8 hours driving 7 hours must be added for breaks/rest.
Please share which solution you have found.
With kind regards,
